How to Make a Yoyo

Here is my first ever tutorial. I'm kind of excited about it! A friend wants to learn how to do crafty things, but wanted to start easy, so here we are.

These yoyos are so versitile, you can add buttons and stems and make them into a bouquet, you can add them as embelishments to things or even make them into a blanket!

To begin you will need:
fabric
scissors
a circular object to trace
needle and thread

What you will want to do next is trace the circle onto the back side of the fabric. I like to use charm packs since they are always in the same color scheme and they are pre cut to a decent size. Different size circles are going to make different size yoyos.

Cut out the circle. You are going to want to knot the thread at the end. You will begin sewing in and out along the edge of the circle. It should begin to look like this:

Once you get to the end, pull tight and tie the ends together (you should have a small tail from where you started). You may have to straighten out the yoyo a little, you will want there to be a little circle in the center. Then ending product should look like this:

Now you are free to add a button in the middle to make it look like a flower! I always use hot glue to add the buttons or to add the yoyo onto an item. There are so many things you can do with these and they are so easy and fun to make! Happy crafting!
